A Wonderful First Week in Year 6

What a fantastic first week we have had in Year 6! It has been lovely to welcome all of the children back to school and see them settling into their new routines. We have been so impressed with their enthusiasm, positive attitudes and readiness for the exciting year ahead.

It was also wonderful to meet so many parents and carers at our Meet the Teacher event on Tuesday evening. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend. It was a great opportunity to introduce ourselves, share some information about the year ahead and begin building the strong partnership between home and school that is so important for our children.

We have also enjoyed taking part in our whole-school book 'Quest'. The children have been using the book as inspiration for their creative writing, developing their ideas and using their imaginations to create their own stories. We have been impressed by their enthusiasm and creativity and are looking forward to seeing how their stories develop.

This week, the children were introduced to the opportunities to apply for the roles of Prefect and House Captain. We discussed the responsibilities that come with these important roles and the qualities needed to be a positive role model within our school community. The children were then given their application forms, and we are looking forward to receiving their applications and hearing about the ideas they have for making a positive contribution to our school.

Year 6 is a very special year, filled with opportunities to learn, grow, become more independent and prepare for the next stage of the children's education. We are looking forward to working closely with parents and carers throughout the year to support every child to achieve their very best.

We have lots of exciting learning, experiences and challenges ahead, and we are delighted to have such a wonderful group of children to share them with.

Welcome back to Year 6!

Our first two days in our new classroom have been absolutely brilliant, and the children have settled in incredibly well. There is already a wonderful, happy buzz in the room as everyone adjusts to being the leaders of the school.

We kicked off our first morning by catching up and sharing all our fantastic stories from the summer holidays. It was lovely to hear about all the adventures, family time, and relaxing things the children got up to over the break.

To help brighten up our school and celebrate our unique personalities, we spent some time drawing self-portraits. The creativity on display has been outstanding, and these will soon be proudly displayed in the corridors for everyone to see.

It has been a fantastic start to the final year of primary school, and we are so proud of how maturely the children have returned.

Important Reminders for Next Week

• PE Days: Our outdoor and indoor PE sessions will take place on Tuesday and Thursday. Please ensure your child comes to school wearing their full, correct school PE kit on these days.
• Meet the Teacher: Don't forget our parent meeting this Tuesday 8th September at 6:45pm. We look forward to seeing you there to discuss the Year 6 curriculum, expectations, and upcoming events.
