Welcome back to the Spring Term in Ivrit - בְּרוּכִים הַבָּאִים. The children have learnt Numbers - מִסְפָּרִים and can now say and recognise numbers up to 20 (not necessarily in order). They have learnt how to write the numbers in letters and will now use them for the next topic of Birthdays - יוֹם הֻלֶּדֶת To say their age, the date they were born, their home telephone numbers and house number, ready to create a birthday invitation in Ivrit. Please see topic vocabulary for the words and phrases for the next topic.
The children in Year 3 have started a new topic this half term (November 2023) - My Family - הַמִשְפַּחַה שֶלִי They have learnt how to describe their family members using זֶה/זֺאת (this is for male and female) and use the phrase שֶלִי (my) and שֶל ( of). See Topic Vocabulary for the words and phrases.
The children in Year 3 have settled into the Ivrit lessons this Autumn 2023 term. They have started the topic - מִי אֲנִי - 'Who am i?'. They are able to have a simple conversation with each other in Ivrit, using greetings such as שָׁלוֹם, בֹּקֶר טוֹב, צָהֳרַיִם טוֹבִים (shalom, good morning, good afternoon..) and ask each other questions such as מָה שלומךָ/ךְ, אֵיךְ קוֹרְאִים לְךָ/ לְךָ - what is your name (to a boy or girl) and how are you (to a boy or girl). They are starting to read simple texts and listen to video clips for an oral and written comprehension.
